Gordon plays a programme in two halves. After a real Town Hall opening with Jongen’s wonderful Sonata, and music by Bach and Howells, the programme turns to Halloween. Be ready for spooky lighting and perhaps some guests!

Gordon is joined by pianist George King, a real Kirklees favourite. The programme includes Bach’s Fugue alla Gigue, Franck’s Prelude, Fugue and Variation, Philip Moore’s Prelude, Adagio and Toccata and Harold Britton’s Variations on I got Rhythm.

2 October 2017Huddersfield Town Hall 13.00The second of October 2017 is the 100th birthday of Dr Francis Jackson. Gordon Stewart’s programme includes music by his mentor, Edward Bairstow, two pieces written to celebrate his 90th birthday and three pieces by Dr Jackson himself. The concert ends with Norman Cocker’s Tuba Tune which was played by Dr Jackson on a best-selling record from York Minster
30 September 2017Portsmouth Cathedral 6.15Gordon plays a concert celebrating the arrival of the new chamade reed on the Nicholson organ. The programme includes the world premier of Noel Rawsthorne's Marche Triomphale.
